Reflection paragraph on process

I actually must say, that I enjoyed continuing research on music therapy and posting on this blog website. I have learned majority of things. If I had to try to do this whole blog over again, I would do it exactly the same way because I feel that I did this perfectly and accurately. I hope. I can actually say that there was nothing that I disliked from Music Therapy. This whole therapy displayed benefical treatment to those who really need it and it shows as well. My first choice into researching was music theory, but next time I blog it will be about that. Though, I am very happy with the results and my results on this subject. It has opened my eyes to new things and a understanding of how music is more than just for someones entertainment. It is so much more if you think about it and I hope many agree. Overall, this was fairly easy and I enjoyed practically every moment with it.

Reflection paragraph on sources

There are tons of unreliable and reliable sources in the internet. Mostly there are just unreliable, depending on search engine, but I used Google and I have found some well reliable sources with accurate information. How do I know that? Majority of the websites that I have visted were all articles from organizations dealing with this sort of information and I found them to be truthful. Like I said before, there are plenty of sources, but you have to choose to right one. I'm glad that my sources were fact and not the authors bias. It would have destroyed the accuracy of my subject if had been a bias. Needless to say that some bias are derived from fact, but you just have to be careful.

Wordle #2 based on topic key terms

Wordle: Untitled

Reflection paragraph on findings

I was actually surprised taking the time and researching all the effects that Music Therapy has on someone. They treat it on people with social disorders or just disorders, who have major clinical depression, and very much more. You would be surprised on how much this expressive clinical treatment can do. Nothing is impossible, but something that shocked me the most was how this treatment could help people actually walk again. I was in awe when I heard of this and I was very skeptical to a point to where I didn't believe it. Sure enough it actually did help people do such a thing and after learning this, what can't this do? Some people consider mixing this with medicine as well. Which could be an incredible benefactor.

Finding Paragraph #3

Even though this post is about therapy it is really about one thing. It's all about music and I have come a long way into researching this specific topic and I must say, it's probably the one I feel that has a lot of significant value. It's more than just listeing to music and just feeling good. It's all about the emotion, the expression, and the way it changes an individuals life. They're are many genres of music, one that fits a need of an individual. Music is the best way to communicate with others, which is really the sole purpose of the clinical treatment. To help others become more aware and involved with peers around them. It's okay to be who are and express your inner self, not to hide it from everyone else. It's your music.

Finding Paragraph #2

In the beginning of time, I had asked a simple question. What is Music Therapy? I did have some understanding of this, but I didn't have enough knowledge to actually make a blog on it. Now this post is going to be the sum of all that is good. Music therapy, as you know, is a very special type of Theraputic treatment that improves ones health or quality of life. I bet you, the person viewing this blog or post, could not go a day or a week without listening to music. Now, think about the ones who any sort of social or any disorder. They rarely have the opportunity to actually listen to some good music. When in fact they do, they burst out with life like no other. It's pretty amazing, someone who would never talk is just either singing, humming, or dancing just to music. Not to mention it can actually help people walk, which I thought was strange, but its all will power.

Finding Paragraph #1

The third post and on the second question I had asked if music therapy was important for everyone. It's plain to see that of course it's important for everyone. Think of those who are so bogged down or contempt in some form of anger or depression. The first thing everyone goes to is music, because music is like a therapist or a cure. They start listening to a form of genre that comforts them in some fashion to where it just calms them down or to do something possibly unthinkable. For me, when I need enlightment or just to feel so much better, I listen to the Classical music genre. It varies for others and as you can see on previous posts, it is very effective and important.

Quote, paraphrase, and citation #5

"Almost all children respond to music. Music is an open-sesame, and if you can use it carefully and appropriately, you can reach into that child's potential for development." Nordoff-Robbins uses music therapy to help 100 handicapped children learn and to relate and communicate with others.- Dr. Clive Robbins (Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Clinic

It's practically easy for those who would listen to music to feel some enlightment and to burst with happiness and start to move. I could imagine the sight being amazing, for a child to just listen to music and just be alive and have better quality of life.To be able to actually communicate well with the peers around him. It's quite awesome.

Quote, paraphrase, and citation #4

"Music therapy has been an invaluable tool with many of our rehabilitation patients. There is no question that the relationship of music and medicine will blossom because of the advent of previously unavailable techniques that can now show the effects of music." Mathew Lee (Acting Director, Rusk Institute, New York)

In this quote actually proves my point and it's something that I have stressed through this whole blog. Music is powerful and to put it into therapy makes it even stronger. Now, in the quote it says that " the relationship of music and medicine will blossom because of the advent of previously unavailable techniques that can now show the effects of music." While that might be true I still could not imagine the after effects of the combination of music and medience. Though, I feel that they should still be seperate.

Graph/chart/map and citation

In the chart above, it shows all of the patience who are specifically in need of Music Therapy. Truly I wouldn't have guessed that majority of those who needed this were those who are crippled. That's amazing. An individual who could not remotely walk is mobile due to this theraputic treatment. Before, I could not comprhened the assertion of overwelming emotion that can instantly rush you through music. This treatment, however, puts me in awe. The second largest amout of patiences are those who seek concentration. Which is understandable at my point. Being able to focus on the tasks at hand can sometimes be difficult.

Quote, paraphrase, and citation #3

"Before I had surgery, they told me I could never walk again. But when I sat and listened to music, I forgot all about the pain," said Goldman, who walked with assistance during the hearing.
- REUTERS, Aug. 1, 1991.

I don't know if we feel the same, but I definately find this inspirational. How is someone able to forget pain due to music? I have no clue, but apparenlty it works and without a doubt it's amazing. Music is powerful, it changes our lives in such a positiveway for us. This is a prime example.

Music Therapy is a tremendous mental and physical theraputic treatment. It just really soothes the soul. Your favorite song can cause an explosion of expression. Though I feel that while listening to music, you could come up witht some sort of epiphany, as I do everyone in a while. I feel that music is a stimulation as well, because I have moments where I just feel enlightened and I am able to think or comprehend more than I would on a regular basis. It's a wonderful feeling, this expressive threaputic treatment is probably more effective than any other type of clinical treatment.

Quote, paraphrase, and citation #2

"Music helps all types of people to remain forever young." He noted that Congress had never before "directly addressed the question of music" as preventive medicine and as "a therapeutic tool for those suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, strokes and depression."
- SUPERIOR, WI Telegram, Aug. 14, 1991

Music Therapy is one of the very expressive treatments. It's something more than just studying it and how it can do wonders for an individual. It does more to watch the reactions and their emotions bursting at the seems. To see someone who had barely life in them to just be awaken or brought back to life by blissful sounds of music. Use this tool for someone with a disorder and watch the same reaction.

The lady in this picture is treating this child who has Autisim. Her name is Christine Barton and this is what she does for a living. She helps kids with autisim by using music therapy. Though, music therapy is the effective intervervention of emotional deficits in autisim. So far it is working out really well for children with this unfortunate disorder.

Preliminary links and descriptions

Wikipedia is basically the pinacle of information. Finding out Music Therapy was a piece of cake, literally, I had some after. Like many websites like it, Wikipedia details the treatment specifally. Mainly the purpose of the treatment and how it helps mankind. Though, it does not give a lot of detail. It is just so brief.
"Wikipedia was launched in January 2001 by Jimmy Wales and Larry Sanger."

The is a real orginaztions' website that actually studies Music Therapy. This website actually helps you discover treatments, patience who have been through this clinical treatment as well as quotes. Which has substantial information for me to complete processes in this research.

http://stress.about.com/od/tensiontamers/a/music_therapy.htm
This is an article about Music Therapy created by, Elizabeth Scott, M.S. This is an article that really bogs down the specifc aspects and regions of Music Therapy that helps. It actually really seems factious and important. I learned more about Music Therapy from this sight than all of the other links posted above. So this would have to be the best website to get the information from.

What I Want To Know About My Topic

What is Music Therapy?
Is music really important for everyone?
Why do people use music therapy to improve ones health?
Can music therapy actually improve your health?
How could music therapy improve your heatlh?
Is music therapy a popular clinical treatment?
Is music therapy for everyone?

Ofcourse I would have many questions on this topic. Music therapy is really interesting and its something that should be taken seriously. These music therapist had taken something that was heavily used for entertainment and used it for something much more. It is a treatment that can save someones life, become more social, change their attitute, and expresses their true emotion. Music is very important to absolutely everyone and this theraputic treatment oversteps its boundaries. With that being said, music has no limits to what it could actually do to you.

What I Already Know About My Topic

Music Therapy is a very strange yet wonderful type of clinical treatment. It only uses music to improve the clients health. Who could have known that music could actually improve and individuals life. Musical treatment has done many wonderous things to many people. Many vidoes that I have seen where a client that had barely any expression and would not even awnser to simple yes or no question. Once he had gotten the treatment, he was brought back to life. He would practically answer all the questions and he would start to sing when they asked him his favorite songs. It was pretty enlightening.

The Story Behind My Topic

Why exactly did I choose this topic?
I'll be honest, this wasn't my first choice. My first choice was Music Theory, though I have seen through videos what music therapy can do to a person. One person who have very little motor functions could listen to music could feel so much better, forget about the pain they felt and instantly be able to move. Though, music is very important to me, as well as others. Depending on the type of music you're listening to, it could change your emotion almost instantly. Whereas an individual could be sad, but with the right type of music he/she could be expressive and happy. Though, majority of people have their own self-expression through the music that they listen to, all the different variations that one likes could decide how they live their life or in what way. Music is very important and the fact that music can improve the health of someone is more than enough for me to choose this topic.
